Minutes of the Last AGM
Copies of the minutes of the AGM of 2010 were made available to the meeting. The minutes were accepted as a true record of that meeting.
Proposed by Sue Searle, seconded by Susan Burgoin.
Matters Arising
Derek Wheeler asked if he could put a question through the Chair to the Treasurer. Chair agreed.
The Treasurer’s report showed a profit of £18.38. If the Association had not received the £197.80 from the Market Deeping Group would there have been a profit? The Treasurer replied, no.
The Chairman pointed out that we, as an Association, do not have any means of raising funds and that members might like to think about ways of doing just that. The Chairman pointed out that we do not have any heavy expenditure and that savings are made. In fact the Fire
Station has offered use of tonight’s venue free of charge and this would continue for all future meetings.
Chairman’s Address
The Chairman welcomed all those present and introduced the Committee members present.
He then asked each attendee present to introduce themselves and state the area they represent.
The Chairman then advised the meeting of his ongoing medical situation and asked if there was anyone who would like to take over as Chairman. Additionally, we do need other members on the Committee.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer had made available copies of her report to the meeting. The report showed a balance of £623.37, compared to last year’s total of £659.32. Total income was 5p interest and total expenditure of £36.00 – Wake House Room Hire. The meeting accepted the accounts, proposed and seconded. Unfortunately I as Secretary did not take note of the names of the proposer or seconder.
Election of Officers
PCSO Graeme Parrott took the Chair to oversee the Election of the Officers. All present incumbents were happy to continue in their present posts unless there was anyone who wished to volunteer their services. As there were no offers from the floor the present Committee were re-elected for the coming year.

Presentation by Annie Best CFS Advocate
Annie Best introduced herself and briefly explained her role within the Fire service. She gave the meeting a short tour of the Fire Station and explained the detail each vehicle and its role in an emergency and all the equipment therein.
She then showed a short DVD on the way a house fire might start and just how quick it can spread. She stressed the importance of having smoke alarms, which ones the fire service recommend and the importance of fixing them in the correct locations within the home.
The Fire Service, on request would visit residential properties to carry out home fire safety checks and would be available to fit smoke alarms as required.
Lincolnshire Alert System
PCSO Graeme Parrott introduced this topic and explained that this has replaced the Ringmaster system.
The Lincolnshire Alert System is a community messaging service managed by the Lincolnshire Police. The messaging service acts as a tool for the Police to give information to registered members on crime reduction and safety issues. Members are also able to provide information to the Police. All Coordinators have an account on this system and they can go into their account and map out the area they cover to enable others to see where the point of contact is within their neighbourhood watch area. The website is www.lincsalert.co.uk.
Susan Burgoin raised concern over the 0300 111 0300 number. She reported that a neighbor had difficulty when she phoned this number, in particular, being passed on to another person then being held in a queue. In fact she gave up and hung up.
Graeme said that this was a problem and it was being looked into.

Current scams in circulation at present:
A telephone call had been received from a male stating they have been made aware of the recipient having problems with their computer and advising that this can be sorted and then request personal information and password the rectify the problem.
Cold Calling: Tony Jacobs advised the meeting that a team of so called tree surgeons have been operating in his watch area asking residents if they want any trees operated on.
The Police need to know when uninvited callers are operating in a no cold calling zone.
A question was asked concerning the cost of the Neighbourhood Website and could we get it cheaper. The present cost is one of the cheapest at £120 for 2 years.
Neighbourhood Watch Meetings: The Chairman asked those present if another meeting during the year would be advantageous. At present we have the AGM in October and a Coordinators Meeting in May. Is another Coordinators Meeting required? The meeting agreed that another one should be planned. Meetings will be scheduled for Feb/Jun and Oct.
There being no other business the Chairman thanked the Fire Service for use of the room and the meeting closed at approximately 2130 hours.
